Welcome to our online Interview Portal, further to your successful application. Thank you for applying to work at Liverpool Football Club. You are one step closer to joining a world class football family.

This portal shows you some information about our Club values and vision, and a recruitment video showcasing the roles we are looking to recruit for. We hope this helps to give you a flavour of what working in Club operations would be like and the teams you would be joining.

We would also like to invite you to use this portal to sit your pre-set Avatar interview for the role which you have been shortlisted for. You can take the interview from the comfort of your own home at a time convenient to you within the week that has been specified to you. This will be using your personal webcam and although this interview will work on smart phones and tablets, we do recommend you complete this on a laptop/desktop for a better-quality video where possible.

When you are ready, simply select your shortlisted job role from the drop-down list (top centre of the portal) and you will be directed to the relevant interview. All the instructions on how to complete your interview will be provided to you before you start the process and you can also revisit the job description for the role.

Our trained assessors will be exploring your suitability to the role and looking for you to showcase your personality to us as well as sharing any relevant experience and skills you may have. Experience is not essential for most roles, but it is critical for all roles that you can represent the Club values and behaviours. The questions therefore help us explore the Liverpool Behaviours that are important to us at the Club – these are “Memory Makers”, “Complementary Experts” and “Always On”.

Once you have submitted your interview, we will get back to you as soon as possible over the coming weeks. You may not hear from us straight away due to the volume of applications and the length of the current recruitment campaign, however, we will contact you regardless of the outcome.

If successful, we will invite you to take part in Stage 2 Interviews, which will be an email invitation via the Eventbrite site to attend a live zoom group assessment and for you to complete right to work checks.

FAQs

Can I take my interview more than once?
No, you only have one opportunity to take your interview. For that reason, we encourage you to prepare thoroughly and to take advantage of the Practice Interview when you are given that option as part of your Interview set-up. We also recommend that you complete your interview in a quiet space and ensure you give yourself enough time. Please note that if you stop the interview for any reason, the avatar will continue the interview from the next question.
Who will be interviewing me?
A human-like Avatar will ask the questions which have been set by us. We believe that simulating a face-to-face interview environment will give us the best opportunity of seeing and hearing the personality and characters of our participants, like yourself, and will help us shortlist only the very best candidates to progress to the next stage of the recruitment process. By using an Avatar for this phase of our recruitment process, we can ensure that all candidates are asked the same questions in the same way. It also means that candidates can take their interview for any time within the week booked in for, at their convenience from anywhere in the world and do not have to worry about scheduling issues or rearranging their busy timetables.
Is there an opportunity to practice?
Yes. There is a Practice Interview opportunity once you have registered and set-up your webcam. This interview will not be recorded and will not be visible to anyone but you. We recommend you take advantage of this chance to get used to the technology and to relax and enjoy the experience. You’ll be great.
Who will be able to see my interview?
Your interview will be seen and scored by an assessor from the organisation. Only those in this organisation who are responsible for shortlisting for your interview will have access to your recorded answers.
How do I find my interview?
Simply select and click on the interview from the dropdown list on ‘Show All Vacancies’ on this page, for which you have been shortlisted. Read the Job description, enter your personal details and click OK. You will then be directed to your interview. You will be invited to make sure your webcam is working correctly and then offered the opportunity to take a Practice Interview, which is to help you get used to the process and relax. When you are ready please proceed to the interview proper.
Do I need any special software to take my interview?
You will need to sit your interview on a HTML5 capable browser. Most modern browsers should work fine, but you may encounter compatibility issues with some browsers on mobile devices. You should try and ensure that you are using the latest version of your browser software, and if that doesn't work, consider using a different browser. You may also need to give permission to your browser (this might appear as a pop-up in another part of your computer screen). You are able to take the interview on your smartphone or Tablet, but to give the best interview, we recommend you try and sit this interview on a laptop or desktop. You will need a webcam on a laptop or PC; we suggest you make sure this is working before attempting the interview.
How long do I have to answer the questions?
Each question has been pre-set with a time for your answer. The Avatar will tell you what this is and the time will also be counted down on the screen. When you have finished your answer, press your mouse button once and your answer will be buffered, uploaded and stored, ready for us to review. If you do not click your mouse button, the answer will be stopped when the time allocated has run to zero and again, at this point, your answer will be uploaded automatically. You will see a green tick and the word ‘Published’ appear to confirm when this action has been completed. Do not be alarmed if it takes a few seconds for this to be done; the time to upload depends to some extent on the strength and upload speed of your internet connection.
When will I find out if I have been successful?
We will contact you as soon as possible after all the candidates have completed their interview.
Can I take my interview on my smartphone?
Yes, your interview can be recorded on your smartphone or tablet. However, we strongly recommend that if you can, you complete the interview on a laptop or computer to ensure that we get the best possible view of you, because we want to see your personality and character, as well as listen to your answers.
What are the top tips for a good interview?
Preparation is very important. Choose a setting and a time which is quiet and that will allow you to complete the interview undisturbed by people or phones. Once you have confirmed your voice settings are correct, ensure that your face is fully visible and centred on your webcam and that there is no bright light (or sun) reflecting on the screen or putting your face in shadow. Engage with your Interviewer by looking directly at your webcam when answering, so that we can see your eyes. Listen to the question carefully and answer clearly. The questions will also be written on the screen. Don’t get flustered if things go astray. You can pause the interview at any time, but please be aware that the Avatar will start with the next question when you resume. You cannot re-answer the same question. If circumstances occur beyond your control which causes you not to be able to take or complete your interview, we recommend you contact the Organisation as soon as possible.
Can I take my interview any other way?
We have selected a video interview as being the best way in current circumstances for us to assess the personality and character of our preferred candidates; to ‘see’ beyond what a written CV might tell us. We realise that this is different to most methods of selection, but it gives you a great opportunity to shine and to tell and show us how well you match our values and behaviours.
